I set out to represent the social and political influences that shape and change the country Georgia. It is an exploration of atmosphere and social identity through my own discovery of the country.
I aimed to maintain a distance and stillness, through out the images, to invite more thoughtful readings of the microcosms of the Georgian society and landscape which I have photographed.
Arguably we are a product of our environment and the landscape in which our experiences in life occur. By turning the lens on the landscapes of Georgia I aimed to reflect something of the identity of its people and as Georgia as a nation.
These images also aim to break away from the preconceived ideas of Georgia and begin to explore its true identity.
